April 1, 2018 This is the most fun we have at the Coverage Corner our annual April Fools edition! Can you spot the claim that isn’t true? All those submitting correct answers will be entered into a raffle for a gift card. – A condominium unit owner called to report termite damage to several areas of her home. Unfortunately, termite damage is not covered by property insurance, so no claim was filed. The next day, the same unit owner called to open 3 claims – water damage through her skylight, weakened frame under her toilet (more water damage) and foundation damage – but termites were “certainly not the cause of any of this damage.” – A homeowner decided to fix his own water heater. A few hours later, the water heater blew up, rocketing through the roof, destroying the home and landing on a bus stop blocks away. – A very shiny, clean car was attacked by a herd of goats after they saw their reflections in the paint. They caused hundreds in damage. – A condo complex was located near a vacant lot where a circus set up their tents. An elephant decided to wander and ended up in the association’s kiddie pool for a dip. The water needed to be drained and the pool sanitized. Can you spot the fake?
