Wilted houseplantContest time!

Last year’s April Fools edition of Coverage Corner was one of the most talked about editions of the year, so let’s do it again! My co-workers and I have heard of some crazy claims. Can you spot the one that isn’t true? All those submitting correct answers will be entered into a raffle for a gift card.

1. A client tried to file a claim because their neighbor was shooting microwaves at them which was killing their plant and upsetting their cat.

2. While vacationing in Malaysia, a couple had their clothing stolen and scattered around the jungle by a thieving band of monkeys. Their insurance company paid for their loss.

3. After a common area pipe burst, the HOA’s insurance carrier paid for replacement of a unit owner’s extensive Pez Candy Dispenser collection.

4. A common area tree fell in a parking lot, blocking several spaces but luckily causing no damage to vehicles or property. Clean up costs were substantial, but were covered under the “debris removal” portion of the association’s insurance policy.

Can you spot the fake? Email your guess to terri@berginsurance.com by April 15th. All correct entries will be entered into a drawing for a gift card, and the winner will be announced in next month’s Coverage Corner!
