Loss control recommendations should be seen as a positive for your communities. They are an opportunity to fend off potential claims, identify things that might lead to a claim, and get ahead of them.

Insurance carriers want to know about potential risks at the communities they are insuring, and they want you to know about them as well. Inspectors are specially trained to look for hazards that, for many of us, just blend into the background.

The next time you receive a notice that your community is going to have an inspection, why not tag along with the inspector? Learn how to see the community through a new set of eyes and then incorporate that knowledge into your regular property walkthroughs. That way, you can make recommendations before potential issues become claims. You can become the superhero for your boards and communities!
