Image of a Boa ConstrictorIn honor of April Fools’ Day, let’s have a contest! I took a poll of my coworkers to find out the craziest claims they had received. Can you spot the one that isn’t true? All those submitting correct answers will be entered into a raffle for a gift card!

1. An intoxicated man fell over a walkway railing onto another walkway 10 feet below. He sued the association because the walkway wasn’t properly lit. He was lit, but apparently the walkway wasn’t.

2. A non-resident of a community sued the HOA for discrimination. This person felt it was unfair of the golf course attached to the HOA to offer discounted rates on Tuesdays for” Ladies Day”. I guess he didn’t notice that “Gentlemen’s Days” were on Wednesdays.

3. A water damage claim was filed for 2 units because water overflowed in a bathtub in the upstairs unit and ran for several hours. The water was turned on by a six foot boa constrictor who escaped his cage and was seeking warmth with hot water. Apparently, he could turn on the faucet, but couldn’t quite figure out how to turn it off.

4. A condominium community provided free Wi-Fi in the clubhouse for members and visitors. The association was sued because a teenager doing his homework was unable to electronically turn in an assignment on time because the Wi-Fi went down for 4 hours. He ended up flunking the class and blamed the association for the failing grade.
